Referee Assigning Process
The National Sports Center is continually trying to improve the referee assigning process for our tournaments. In 2008, Bill Roll will again be the lead assignor for all NSC tournaments with assistance from Mike McClanahan. This will be Bill's fourth year as the referee coordinator at the NSC and it will be Mike's fourth year being involved with the referee assigning process at the NSC.

In 2008, NSC Cup, Wal-Mart All-American Cup, and Schwan's USA CUP Weekend will all again be completely assigned in advance of the tournaments. Referees will know the days and times they have been assigned for these entire tournaments before the tournaments begin.

For the 2008 Schwan's USA CUP we will assign the Tuesday-Friday of the tournament in advance. The process for assigning games for the final day of the tournament (Saturday) is currently being refined.

Games assignments will once again be made available online for acceptance and decline.

New for 2008, the NSC will be posting all timelines for referee assignments so referees know when they can expect to receive their assignments for each tournament.

These changes have been made in an effort to better meet the needs of our referees by providing more information in advance and simplifying the process for accepting and declining game assignments.

Referee Pay Increase
The National Sports Center is happy to announce increased referee pay for 2008. In an effort to attract additional quality referees, the NSC has increased referee fees for 2008. This is the fourth consecutive year of referee pay increases at the NSC.
