Travel Coordinator

General Purpose

The National Sports Center is looking to fill the NSC Travel Coordinator position.  This individual’s primary role is to assist teams and individuals with their travel needs associated with the National Sports Center and surrounding communities.  The NSC seeks a highly organized, customer service and detail oriented individual.

Assignments

  • Oversee housing bureau website and software                                                                
  • Generate and secure contracts with hoteliers for events                                                                             
  • Program event data into housing bureau software                                                          
  • Create housing reservations by entering data into computer software                                                                  
  • Establish and manage team sub-blocks for sporting events in software system                                                                
  • Handle any issues that may arise with customer reservations                                                                     
  • Communicate with event planners, hotels and attendees via letters, email, phone or in person                                     
  • Monitor hotel room blocks to ensure large numbers of blocks are not left unfilled
  • Ensure reservations are being processed by hoteliers in an efficient and time sensitive manner
  • Provide ongoing training to new and current hotel staff  
  • Serve as liaison between guests and hotels   
  • Interface with software staff for training and support
  • Establish and maintain good working relationship with area hotels    
  • Stay knowledgeable about area hotels in order to answer attendees questions regarding them
  • Provide reconciliation reports following each event to hoteliers and event client     
  • Create billing worksheet following events to allow accounting to invoice   
  • Complete system audits to ensure teams are utilizing the software             
  • Seek external business to use the software system
  • Expand the services offered beyond hotel reservations
  • Manage the USA CUP volunteer program, working with tournament staff for potential volunteer recruiting opportunities 
  • Assist in USA CUP team registration
  • Resolve complaints within scope of information and authority; refer to other appropriate staff for further investigation as warranted
  • Organize, manage, plan, budget for NSC Travel as directed programs and events 
  • Support all NSC registration events  
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor                                                                                                                         

Education and Experience

College degree preferably in Sports Management or Business Management or equivalent education and experience.

Compensation

Based on education and tenure with the NSC, paid bi-weekly

Officials Assigner/Soccer and Field Sports Programming Coordinator

General Purpose

The National Sports Center is looking to fill the Programming Coordinator/Officials Assigner position. This individual’s primary role is to assign officials for tournaments and leagues, as well as management of leagues and development programs.  

Assignments

  • Assign officials for leagues and tournaments
  • Manage and maintain development programs and leagues 
  • Market programs through public channels, clubs, and teams
  • Recruit and retain officials
  • Create and maintain program budgets
  • Possess knowledge base for all events
  • Manage all aspects of events           
  • Manage officials and event staff to ensure customer service and satisfaction for each event
  • Analyze current market and recommend new programs and ideas
  • Other duties as assigned                                                                                               

Education and Experience

College degree preferably in Sports Management or Business Management or equivalent education and experience.

Compensation

Based on education and tenure with the NSC, paid bi-weekly

Hospitality Concessions & Catering Associate

Position Information

  • Rate of Pay: Based on Experience
  • Hours Per Week: Varies based on campus events
  • Location: All Campus Concession/Catering
  • Kitchen and concession experience preferred but not required

Position Description

The National Sports Center is looking for an energetic, self-motivated individual with an outgoing personality, hard work ethic, a clean/neat and professional appearance, and can provide excellent customer service. This individual will be a representation of the National Sports Center

Position Responsibilities

  • Greeting customers
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Taking, assembling, and presenting food orders
  • Operating a cash register and requesting/receiving payment from customers
  • Cooking and preparing food – standing and constant moving
  • Assist in various food areas to ensure food and concessions are being prepared and packaged properly, and being delivered to the customer in a timely manner
  • Stocking concessions trailers and/or food or vendor stands
  • Assist in inventory counts to help with proper stock and rotation
  • Cleaning in accordance with the National Sports Center sanitary standards including but not limited to:
    • Sweeping and mopping floors
    • Cleaning walls, counters, kitchen and service equipment
    • Removing trash
  • Associate will be trained in multiple areas within the concessions and catering position

Position Qualifications

  • Physical Requirements: This positions requires the ability to lift/pull/push/move/carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to operate commercial grade kitchen equipment such as popcorn popper, hotdog machine, kitchen ovens, etc.
  • Experience preferred but not necessary

Zamboni Driver

The Schwan Super Rink is currently looking to hire Zamboni drivers to resurface ice and assist with facility operations. No experience necessary, training will be provided.

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends
  • Must be customer-service oriented
