Pre-Registration

Fee (before August 6, 2006) is $80 per team for USCF-licensed riders. Pre-registrations should include team name, four (4) rider names and USCF license numbers and designation of one of the riders as team captain for communications purposes. Pre-registrations should be addressed to:

On-Site Registration

Fee is $100 for USCF-licensed riders. One-day licenses are available on-site at an additional fee. Registration opens at 8:00 am on Sunday, August 20 at Pine Point Park, 11900 Norell Avenue North (see map). Registration closes at 8:45 am.

Rules

All USCF rules apply. Helmets are mandatory and shirts must cover shoulders. No farings allowed. The course is not closed to auto traffic; the yellow line rule will be in force. The first team will depart at 9:00 am. Subsequent teams will depart at 3 minute intervals. Start times will be determined by race organizers and posted 10 minutes before the start of the race. All riders must check-in, sign the release, and pick up numbers before 8:45 am. Teams must be at the start-line staging area in Pine Point Park three minutes prior to their scheduled start time. Teams may start three or four riders. The time of the third team rider across the finish line will be the team time.

Course

Course Map

The race distance is 40 km. The start and finish lines are on County Road 55 (Norell Avenue North) near Pine Point Park. Teams will travel:

  • »  North on Co Rd 55 past Snail Lake Trail and the May Town Hall to Co Hwy 4 (170th Street North)
  • »  East on Co Hwy 4 to Co Hwy 3 (Olinda Trail north)
  • »  North on Co Hwy 3 to a U-turn approximately ½ mile short of the New Scandia Town Hall
  • »  South on the same route past Pine Point Park to a U-turn on Co Rd 55 just short of the Stillwater Town Hall
  • »  North on Co Rd 55 to the finish line near Pine Point Park

 

The course has some rolling hills but no extended climbs. Orange pylons will mark the north and south U-turns.

Sanctioning

The race has been permitted by the U.S. Cycling Federation.
