BLAINE, Minn. (June 15, 2012) – The National Sports Center (NSC) is in the process of installing a new artificial FieldTurf this week, June 11-15, in the indoor Sports Hall.
The 58,350 square feet (approximately 60 yards by 100 yards) of activity area has a new surface of turf as the summer moves into full swing.
The NSC was awarded a 2012 Footprint Field Grant from the U.S. Soccer Foundation that funded a portion of this installation.
Various activities take place within the Sports Hall including indoor soccer leagues and the Minnesota Twins Baseball Training Academy. Lacrosse, football, rugby, ultimate disc and baseball as well as other sports are able to use the facility for training or league play. The indoor turf will be used for the first time for the new USA CUP indoor tournament July 13-21
