The USA Women’s National Hockey Team will hold a practice at the Schwan Super Rink on Saturday, December 2, from 10:00 a.m.-12 noon on rink 6. The practice will be free and open to the public.

The team is preparing for its pre-Olympic exhibition game against Canada the next day, Sunday, December 3, at 3 p.m. at the Xcel Energy Center in Saint Paul. Tickets for the game are available through Ticketmaster and at the Xcel Energy Center box office. The game will also be broadcast live on NBCSN.

The current U.S. team roster has 26 players. A final 23-player Olympic team for the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Games will be announced on January 1.

Eight players and coaches on the current team have Minnesota ties:

Maddie Rooney, goalie from Andover, played at Andover High School and Minnesota Duluth. If selected for the final Olympic team roster, this would be her first Olympic team.

Lee Stecklein, defense from Roseville, played at Roseville High School and the University of Minnesota. Stecklein was a member of the 2014 Olympic Team.

Gigi Marvin, defense from Warroad, played at Warroad High School and the University of Minnesota. Marvin is a two-time Olympian, in 2010 and 2014.

Kelly Pannek, forward from Plymouth, played at Benilde-St. Margaret’s and the University of Minnesota. If selected, this would be her first Olympic team.

Hannah Brandt, forward from Vadnais Heights, played at Hill-Murray High School and the University of Minnesota. Brandt has won two World Championships, but this would be her first Olympic team selection.

Dani Cameranesi, forward from Plymouth, played at the Blake School and the University of Minnesota. Winner of one World Championship with Team USA, this would be Cameranesi’s first Olympic selection.

Sidney Morin, defense from Minnetonka, played for Minnetonka High School and Minnesota Duluth. This would be Morin's first Olympic selection.

Head coach Robb Stauber, from Medina, played at the University of Minnesota. Stauber was an assistant coach for the 2014 Olympic team and won a World Championship gold medal as head coach in 2015.
