Hockey at the Schwan Super Rink


The hockey programs offered at the Schwan Super Rink are second to none. Our experienced, professional staff work year-round on our leagues, tournaments and development programs. We offer something for every level hockey player, both male and female. Explore our programs and sign-up today to begin your hockey experience at the largest ice facility in the United States.

Leagues

Adult

Youth

  • Minnesota Showcase Hockey: Showcase Hockey brings numerous youth leagues to the Schwan Super Rink to continue development of young hockey players.

Tournaments

Adult

  • The Cup Adult Tournament: This late August tournament is for adult teams that want a fun, late summer tournament experience. Features several golf discounts at adjacent Victory Links course.
  • Ironman Adult Tournament: Five games in three days. Think you can handle it? Find in this March tournament.
  • Walleye Chop: Fun-filled adult only men's and women's tournament offered in May.
  • Stick It to Cancer: Fundraising female tournament in April to raise awareness to breast cancer research. Girls and women's divisions offered.
  • The Four Hockey Tournament: This unique 4v4 game features a four-game guarantee (naturally!) with a fun speed skating competition thrown in! This tournament happens in early June.
  • All-American Girls' and Women's Hockey Tournament: This pioneering female tournament attracts teams from around the country in November.

Youth

  • USA International Hockey Cup:This unique summer tournament covers five different weekends in the summer and often features international teams. Both boys' and girls' divisions are offered in many age groups. The off-ice activities and international flavor make this the best summer tournament experience.
  • Schwan Cup: Simply the premier boys' and girls' high school holiday hockey tournament. The boys' high school division plays at Ridder Arena and many metro arenas. The tournament offers a large girls' high school division played at the Schwan Super Rink and Ridder Arena. Following the high school tournament a youth division is held at the Schwan Super Rink.
  • The Rush 3v3 Festival: This small-sided tournament is held on President's Day in February. You'll play four games in one day!
  • The Four Hockey Tournament: This unique 4v4 game features a four-game guarantee (naturally!) with a fun speed skating competition thrown in! This tournament happens in early June.
  • Walmart Hockey Cup High School Festival: Great way to end summer training for high school teams in late July.
  • Walmart Hockey Cup–3v3 Tournament: Cross-ice games for younger age divisions and full-ice for older divisions. Small-sided games are a great training tool. Played in July.

Development

Adult

  • Adult Skills Clinics: Whether a seasoned player or just starting, you'll learn plenty in these clinics.

Youth

  • Miracle Gold: Elite level training for elite level hockey players.
  • United AAA Training Program: The premiere off-season training program for advanced level hockey players that combines player development with age-appropriate discipline, respect, aggressiveness and fun.
  • Miracle Gold Mites: Miracle Gold Mites (MGM) is a developmental program designed to improve each player’s individual skills.
  • D1 Hockey Camp: D1 Hockey means development first! That’s the philosophy behind the most extensive off-season training program offered anywhere in the state.
  • Schwan AAA Hockey: Put together your own team for play throughout the spring, summer and fall.
  • Intro Mites: A great introduction to hockey for the youngest players. The emphasis is on fun!
  • Rookies Small Area Games: The program is designed for boys and girls ages 5-6 who have one year of hockey experience and looking for more.
  • Intensity Hockey: Intensity Hockey is designed to aggressively advance individual player skills and conditioning.  This session is strategically placed as a pre-tryout tune up which will increase on-ice endurance and player development.
  •  Wes Walz Minnesota Wild Hockey School: Our goal to is create a program in which a player can be challenged to work on general hockey skills. All activities are directed toward the skater’s development as a hockey player and a person.
