At UMD, he played on three teams that won the UMLL Championship, earning an invite to the National Championship NIRSA/MCLA tournament twice. At Duluth, Swart was a Captain, team MVP, and earned several league awards.

Swart was an Assistant Coach at UMD for two seasons. In addition, he was invited to play for the Minnesota Chill (now the MN Lakers) where he participated for two seasons.
