Lacrosse Clinic Information

Come get your off-season training with Augsburg College's Kathryn Knippenberg, the only first NCAA varsity college lacrosse coach in Minnesota, at the NSC Lacrosse Clinics!

We offer clinics to stay sharp on offense, defense and everywhere in between! The clinics take place at the National Sports Center on artificial turf and are offered based on age level and skill.  

Winter Clinic Description

Beginning Skills Clinic 

  • Grades 3-8 with beginning skills
  • Saturday, January 17, 2015, 12 -1:30 p.m.
  • Full game equipment required
  • Clinic will be held in the NSC Sports Expo Center
  • The beginner clinic is Lacrosse 101 for beginning players, combined with fun games to instill a love of the game in the athletes!

Intermediate Skills Clinic 

  • Grades 7-12 with intermediate skills
  • Saturday, January 17, 2015, 1:30 - 3 p.m.
  • Previous team experience and full game equipment required
  • Clinic will be held in the NSC Sports Expo Center
  • The Intermediate clinic will focus on training on shooting, focusing on placement, movement, and power. A great way to get prepped for your spring season!

Winter Clinic Fees

  • $30 due at the time of application
  • Refunds will not be issued once registration has been submitted. However, registration can be transferred to future sessions.

Fall Clinic Description

This three hour session will be jam packed with stick skills, conditioning and agilities to prepare you for your spring lacrosse season.  Learn new throws and dodges, while enhancing the skills you already possess.  This clinic will push you to try new things that will inevitably improve your game and abilities.  And of course help to get you in shape for the spring season! The clinic will conclude with mini-scrimmages and prizes.

  • Grades 7-12
  • Friday, November 7, 5-8 p.m.
  • Previous experience and full game equipment required
  • Instruction on individual skills and positions development in drills and scrimmages
  • Clinic will be held in the NSC Sports Hall at the National Sports Center

Fall Clinic Fees

  • $50 due at the time of application
  • Refunds will not be issued once registration has been submitted.  However, registration can be transferred to a future session.

Coach

Kathryn Knippenberg joined Augsburg College in 2012 as head coach of the women’s lacrosse team. Knippenberg has served as the girls' lacrosse head coach at the Academy of Holy Angels from 2009-2013 and previously was president and team captain (2005-08) for the University of Minnesota's women's lacrosse club team.

Knippenberg is the co-founder and president of the North Central Women's Lacrosse League (NCWLL), which manages 22 college club lacrosse teams in Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, and Iowa.

In addition, she works with Winning For Life, a non-profit organization dedicated to developing positive leadership and life skills through sports, where she is an assistant coach and mentor to junior high and high school lacrosse players on the Lakers Select Club team.

Knippenberg earned her bachelor's in biology with minors in chemistry and art at the University of Minnesota, and she recently completed her master's degree in epidemiology.
