Speed and endurance are tested every Thursday when racing takes over the velodrome. Twelve races are offered for four different divisions of men and women from beginning Category 4 riders to elite level Category 1 racers. Keirins, Match Sprints, Eliminations. Points Races and Madisons are offered throughout the summer. Races are sanctioned by USA Cycling and require licensing through them.

Penn Cycle Points Race Series

2009 marks the second year of the Penn Cycle Points Race Series.  The Penn Cycle Points Race Series is an 8-race series of Pro/Cat 1/Cat 2 points races, stretching throughout the summer’s Thursday Night Lights events.   Racers will earn points in each race and their nightly scores will accumulate toward an overall series podium.

Salsa King of the Sprints

Back for 2009, the Salsa King of the Sprints showcases the fastest action on 2 wheels!  This 8-race series combines both classic sprints and motor-paced Keirins over the course of the summer’s Thursday Night Lights events.  Sprint specialists in the Pro/Cat 1/Cat 2 classes will earn points in each race and their nightly scores will accumulate toward an overall Salsa King of the Sprints series podium.

American Anti-Aging Society Masters Championship

For the first time, Masters racers (40 yrs +) will have the chance to compete for a season-long championship. This competition, open to all Masters racers, regardless of their category, rewards the most consistent "experienced" riders. Each night, Omnium points won by these riders will be accumulated toward a season-long point total. The Masters racer with the most points at the end of the season will be awarded the American Anti-Aging Society Masters Championship.
