Staff Accountant

Position overview:

As an integral member of the team, you will provide support encompassing all functions and processes of the accounting department. You will be given a unique opportunity to see the wide-ranging impact we have in supporting our unique and exciting organization. You will be exposed to all areas of the business and get an in-depth view of how our different business units operate. The primary focus of this role is assisting the Accounting Manager with the day-to-day operations in the department.

Areas of responsibility:

  • Assist the department with month-end related and year-end close activities
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and adjusting journal entries
  • Provide daily support to treasury management, A/R, A/P and fixed assets
  • Review and analyze organization financials
  • Support the department in preparation for the yearly audit and tax return
  • Assist with special projects and ad hoc reporting
  • Document and update processes
  • Additional responsibilities: Other duties as assigned

Sales and Marketing Coordinator

Position Summary

The Sales and Marketing Coordinator is a member of the Marketing and Communications team at the National Sports Center.  This position reports up the Chief Marketing and Communications Officer.  This position will also receive daily assignments and deadlines from the Creative Marketing Manager and Sports and Recreation Manager.  He/she will be focused on supporting the marketing team. This role provides for personal growth, interaction across departments, and a variety of different tasks. This is a full-time role, with a full benefits package.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

SALES SUPPORT

  • CRM database management, lead generation and reporting
  • Email marketing assistance in managing through the sales funnel
  • Sales prospecting
  • Assistance on sponsorship fulfillment and paid media

OTHER DUTIES

Multi-Media Content Creator

Position Summary

The Multi-Media Content Creator is a member of the Marketing and Communications team at the National Sports Center.  This position reports up the Chief Marketing and Communications Officer.  This position will also receive daily assignments and deadlines from the Creative Marketing Manager.  He/she will be focused on creating engaging content for website, blog, emails and social media. This role provides for personal growth, interaction across departments, and a variety of different tasks. This is a full-time role, with a full benefits package.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

PHOTOGRAPHY AND VIDEO

  • Manage the photography and video needs and schedule for NSC events and programs.
  • Shoot photos/videos and/or assign staff/interns/freelancers to cover all photo needs.
  • Implement the organization of the NSC catalog of photography and video content.

WRITING

  • Create 3 blogs per week
  • Write content for email marketing, brochures and other written pieces
  • Edit content for all marketing materials
  • Create and manage social media posts and events daily

OTHER DUTIES

  • Oversee employee newsletter
  • Report on social and blog metrics monthly
  • Assist on paid social media
  • Assist on graphic design assignments

Minimum Requirements:

  • Strong organization and communication skills

Assistant Campus Operations Manager

Duties include but are not limited to: staff scheduling and assignment; department communication; facility event logistics; hands-on operational support, such as setting up and tearing down events; coordinating with event operators and user groups. This position will report directly to the NSC Director of Operations and will be responsible for managing the logistics and day-to-day operations of facility events.

2nd Shift Campus Operations Manager

Equipment Technician

Position Summary

The National Sports Center Foundation is looking for an Equipment Technician to maintain and repair all types of commercial golf course, athletic field, and other maintenance equipment. You will be responsible for troubleshooting issues, repairing, and maintaining equipment with the goal of providing professional workmanship with minimal comebacks. We provide an outstanding work environment, tools, OE quality parts, and equipment designed to allow our technicians to be highly productive and successful. We are constructing a new 25k sq.ft. Campus Operation Center that will provide a quality work environment. We provide a work environment that allows our technicians to be as productive and efficient as possible since our continued success is due to the quality and character of our team.

Competencies: The Technician/Mechanic position requires experience and technical expertise to diagnose drivability and electrical systems, while using mechanical skills and assisting our team toward increased production quality and satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform accurate diagnostics
  • Conduct equipment inspections
  • Perform routine mechanical work and services (replacing fluids, replacing faulty or worn-out components, etc.)
  • Maintain equipment and tools in good condition
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills:

  • Proven experience mechanic
  • Excellent knowledge of mechanical commercial equipment to include gas, diesel, small engine and other various types of equipment.
  • Ability to handle various tools (e.g. scanners and hand tools) and heavy equipment (e.g. lift, tire machine, welding, grinding machine)
  • Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protections against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals etc.
  • Desire to continually improve skills and knowledge through ongoing training or seminars provided by employer
  • Excellent physical condition to handle the daily rigors associated with being a mechanical service technician
  • Ability to lift 25-75 pounds regularly, respond quickly to sounds, move safely in and around confined spaces
  • Great attitude

Hospitality Concessions & Catering Associate

Position Information

  • Entry Level: $11/hr - $14/hr
  • Hours Per Week: Varies based on-campus events
  • Location: All Campus Concession/Catering
  • Customer Service, Kitchen and concession experience preferred but not required

The schedule will vary based on events, including evenings and weekends.

Position Description

The National Sports Center is looking for an energetic, self-motivated individual with an outgoing personality, hard work ethic, a clean/neat and professional appearance, and can provide excellent customer service. This individual will be a representation of the National Sports Center

Position Responsibilities

  • Greeting customers
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Taking, assembling, and presenting food orders
  • Operating a cash register and requesting/receiving payment from customers
  • Cooking and preparing food – standing and constant moving
  • Assist in various food areas to ensure food and concessions are being prepared and packaged properly, and being delivered to the customer in a timely manner
  • Stocking concessions trailers and/or food or vendor stands
  • Assist in inventory counts to help with proper stock and rotation
  • Cleaning in accordance with the National Sports Center sanitary standards Associate will be trained in multiple areas within the concessions and catering position

Position Qualifications

  • Excellent Customer Service skills
  • Physical Requirements: This position requires the ability to lift/pull/push/move/carry up to 25 pounds and the ability to stand for long periods of time in a fast-paced environment
  • With training, ability to operate kitchen and concessions equipment such as popcorn popper, hotdog machine, kitchen ovens, etc.

Event Operations Team Member

He/she will be focused on delivering great customer service by ensuring clean and safe facilities. This role provides for personal growth, interaction across departments, and a variety of different tasks. This position reports to full-time operations managers plays a critical role in the success of the organization.

NSC Front Desk worker - Super Rink

The National Sports Center is located in Blaine, MN on a 600-acre campus and is considered a leader in the industry on a nation-wide scale. We are home to 8 indoor ice sheets, over 50 soccer fields, 18-hole golf course, and 100,000 square feet of indoor training and meeting space.

NSC Front Desk Worker

The National Sports Center / Super Rink, Blaine Minnesota is hiring for a part time Front Desk worker.

Front desk staff play a key role in creating a fun, energetic and family environment at the Super Rink.  Front desk staff are a constant support for the guests whether working as a Front Desk Cashier, Answering Phone Calls, Birthday Party Support, Ice Monitor, Skate Rental, or simply answering questions and assisting guests as needed.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Skate Rental, Front Desk, Ice Monitor
  • General customer service – interacting with customers, answering phones, program registrations.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the facility.
  • Ensuring the safety and satisfaction of our guests using excellent customer service skills.

Equipment Operator - NSC Agronomy

Reports To:  Golf Course Superintendent and Head Groundskeeper

Directly Manages:  Maintains all Golf Course and Sports Field Areas

Classification:  Full Time, Seasonal, Non Exempt

Hours:  40 Hours/Week with some Weekends and Overtime

Salary:  $14.00/Hour depending on experience and qualifications

*Must have valid drivers license to operate equipment for this job

 

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED

-Responsible for the daily setup of the golf course and sports fields.

-Responsible for mowing and maintaining high quality turf.

-Assist in irrigation maintenance.

-Assist in marking and painting various sports fields.

-Responsible for mulching, weeding, and pruning landscape beds, shrubs, and trees.

-Responsible for hand trimming.

-Responsible for seeding and sodding projects.

-Responsible for cleaning and maintaining equipment and maintenance facility.

-Performs any assigned duty before, during, and after an event.

-Performs related work as required and as directed.

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS

-Knowledge of golf course and sports field maintenance practices.

-Knowledge of the occupational hazards and the proper use of safety practices.

-Ability to operate various pieces of maintenance equipment.

-Ability to understand and carry out instructions to complete work assignments correctly and efficiently.

-Ability to perform manual labor, including standing, sitting, kneeling, and bending for an extended period of time, under various conditions.

-Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally 50 pounds.

-Ability to work in all weather conditions, including heat, humidity, cold, rain, and snow.

-Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors and employees within all departments.

-Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and evenings as required.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

-Previous experience on a golf course or sports field, but not required.

-Knowledge and safe operation of maintenance equipment or ability to learn.

Ice Resurfacer Operator (Zamboni Driver)

The NSC Super Rink is looking for part-time Ice Resufacer Operators to give a great experience to all of our customers. Operators will take guidance from our managers and supervisors to maintain the building, resurface the ice on time according to schedule, assist with maintaining the equipment and maintain the cleanliness of the building.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Ability to work nights and weekends
  • Must be responsible, and able to work with the public efficiently and courteously
  • Minimum of 18 years of age
  • High school graduate or GED equivalent

General Maintenance Custodian

Title:  NSC General Maintenance Custodian

Assignment:  NSC Super Rink/Indoor Facilities

Reports to:  Ice Arena Operations Manager

Competencies:  The ability to keep the ice arena building in a clean and sanitary condition.

Boundaries:  Primary hours will be weekdays and weekends at the Super Rink based on event needs

Duties Include:                       

Custodial

·         Maintain cleanliness of all rest rooms, locker rooms, offices, meeting space and common rooms.

·         Maintains a clean working environment.

·         Assist staff with needs of the building with set up and take down.

Operations:

  • Perform light duty facility improvements.
  • Opening of the building for customers

Relationships

·         Ability to communicate with staff on projects and inventory management.

Additional Duties As Assigned

·         Other duties may be assigned by the Director of Operations and Operations Manager

 

Education/Experience:  Minimum of two years’ experience working in janitorial or operations setting.

Classification:  Part time (30 – 40 hours) weekly

Terms of Employment:  At will

Compensation:  Based on educational and tenure with the NSC, paid bi-weekly

Adult Flag Football Official

The NSC is looking for quality officials for our Adult Flag Football League.  The league plays a 6v6 format with two officials.  Officials do not need to be certified but some experience in football officiating is required.  All games are played on the National Sports Center campus.  League games are played Thursdays at 9, 10, and 11pm.
