The National Sports Center (NSC) is a 600 acre multi-sport complex located in Blaine, MN. It includes a sports stadium, over 50 full-sized soccer fields, Victory Links Golf Course, a meeting and convention facility, and an eight-sheet ice rink, the Super Rink, which is the largest ice arena in the world. The NSC has hosted numerous National and World Championship events in soccer, hockey, figure skating, short track speed skating, broomball, rugby, ultimate disc and lacrosse. The facility welcomes over 3.8 million visitors annually, making it the most-visited sports facility in the state of Minnesota. Each July, the NSC plays host to Target USA CUP, the largest soccer tournament in the Western Hemisphere. Victory Links Golf Course annually hosts the 3M Open Qualifier, a PGA Tour event. In addition, the NSC is home to the Minnesota United FC Training Ground.
Reports To: Golf Course Superintendent and Head Groundskeeper
Directly Manages: Maintains all Golf Course and Sports Field Areas
Classification: Full Time, Seasonal, Non Exempt
Hours: 40 Hours/Week with some Weekends and Overtime
Salary: $15.00/Hour depending on experience and qualifications along with bonus incentives
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED
-Responsible for the daily setup of the golf course and sports fields.
-Responsible for mowing and maintaining high quality turf.
-Assist in irrigation maintenance.
-Assist in marking and painting various sports fields.
-Responsible for mulching, weeding, and pruning landscape beds, shrubs, and trees.
-Responsible for hand trimming.
-Responsible for seeding and sodding projects.
-Responsible for cleaning and maintaining equipment and maintenance facility.
-Performs any assigned duty before, during, and after an event.
-Performs related work as required and as directed.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS
-Knowledge of golf course and sports field maintenance practices.
-Knowledge of the occupational hazards and the proper use of safety practices.
-Ability to operate various pieces of maintenance equipment.
-Ability to understand and carry out instructions to complete work assignments correctly and efficiently.
-Ability to perform manual labor, including standing, sitting, kneeling, and bending for an extended period of time, under various conditions.
-Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally 50 pounds.
-Ability to work in all weather conditions, including heat, humidity, cold, rain, and snow.
-Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors and employees within all departments.
-Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and evenings as required.
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
-Previous experience on a golf course or sports field, but not required.
-Knowledge and safe operation of maintenance equipment or ability to learn.

Position Summary
The Assistant Campus Operations Manager will oversee and manage a staff of 5-10 operations team members, perform facility management duties and work to improve the front-line customer experience for our guests. Duties include but are not limited to: staff scheduling and assignment; department communication; facility event logistics; hands-on operational support, such as setting up and tearing down events; coordinating with event operators and user groups. This position will report directly to the NSC Director of Operations and will be responsible for managing the logistics and day-to-day operations of facility events.

Competencies: The ability to engage and successfully maintain the operations of the ice arena, ice quality and ice resurfacer equipment, including but not limited to the maintenance of the arena, training of staff, and event operations.
Boundaries: Areas of control are building quality, ice quality, and ice equipment maintenance. Primary hours will be nights and weekends.

Ice Maintenance
Knowledge of ice conditions related to indoor facilities, maintaining proper ice thickness, installing ice and taking ice out and of ice painting, lines, logos, etc…
Staff Training
Ability to train drivers how to operate ice resurfacer, monitor drivers and how much ice they shave or build each day, assist with regular staff training sessions, and ability to train cleaning staff and keep them on task
Arena Maintenance and Upkeep
Knowledge of ice resurfacers, ability to maintain ice resurfacers – electric or gas, maintain ice edgers – electric or gas, perform preventative maintenance, install dasher advertising, document equipment needs and perform other arena maintenance / mechanical duties as assigned
Event Support
Ability to be a driver during events and support both operations and maintenance managers
Additional Duties As Assigned

The NSC Super Rink is largest ice rink in North America featuring 8 sheets of ice, 4 of which are Olympic sized and the other 4 NHL sized.
The NSC Hospitality is a fast-paced customer facing department with multiple opportunities working outside at the golf course to working in the nice air conditioning of the NSC Super Rink.
Assignment: National Sports Center Super Rink
Reports to: Ice Arena Operations Manager
Supervises: Part time arena staff
Competencies: The ability to engage and successfully manage all aspects of the arena operations department
Boundaries: Authority to manager staff and customers within the department and is expected to use his/her discretion to benefit the MASC, NSCF, and Super Rink
