Blaine, Minn. (May 10, 2017) – The Schwan Super Rink at the National Sports Center in Blaine will host the third annual USA Hockey Women's National Team Goalie Development Camp from May 11-14, 2017.
The camp consists of 18 of the top American female goaltenders who are eligible for international play, including Breanna Blesi of Maple Grove High School, who was named the 2016-2017 Let’s Play Hockey Senior Goalie of the Year for Minnesota.
Six other players with Minnesota ties have been invited to the camp, the most from any state. In addition to Blesi, the players with Minnesota ties are Ava Bailey (Hudson, Wis./Hill-Murray H.S.), Olivia Bizal (Minnetonka/Blake H.S.), Alexa Dobchuk (Chanhassen/Eden Prairie H.S.), Calla Frank (Hugo/White Bear Lake H.S.), Makayla Pahl (Rochester/Rochester Bantam AA), Emma Polusny (Mound/Mound/Westonka H.S.)
The players range in age from 15 to 20 and represent 11 different states. Minnesota leads the pack with six players listing Minnesota hometowns. The other states represented are Alaska, Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Rhode Island, and Wisconsin,
Here is the schedule for on-ice training sessions. All practices are on Schwan Super Rink #6, and are free and open to the public.
Friday, May 13: 9:15-10:30 a.m. and 5-6 p.m.
Saturday, May 14: 9:15-10:30 a.m. and 5-6 p.m.
Sunday, May 15: 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
