Here is the City of Blaine's weekly update on the 105th Ave NE reconstruction project:

During the week of October 9-13, the contractor is finish grading the aggregate base on the south side.  They are scheduled to pave the first lift of bituminous on the south lanes Friday, October 13. Expect traffic delays as they pave the intersection of 105th Avenue and Davenport St. The contractor is also starting restoration behind the curb on the south side with the installation of topsoil, seed, and erosion control blanket.

Next week’s schedule will see the concrete sidewalk and bituminous trail finished on the south side along with the concrete aprons in the roundabouts.

NSC customers can access the Schwan Super Rink and Welcome Center parking lots through three open access points:

  • Off Davenport St. south of the NSC Velodrome.
  • Off Davenport St. north of the NSC Velodrome, adjacent to the school construction site.
  • Off 105th Ave NE eastbound. This is a right-in, right-out access point.

Access points to the fields north of 105th, and the Victory Links Golf Course, remain open.

The contractor was paving the 105th/Davenport intersection Friday morning. While there were traffic delays while the paving was occuring, the smoother pavement should greatly improve traffic flow through this intersection.

The contractor has installed topsoil, seed, and an erosion control blanket along the south side of 105th. Paving of the southside lanes is scheduled to begin October 13.
