NSC Velodrome cyclist Peter Moore named to USA Junior World Championship team

Blaine, Minn. (July 25, 2018) – Peter Moore, 17, of Saint Paul was recently named by USA Cycling to represent the United States at the Junior World Championships in Aigle, Switzerland.

The championships will take place Aug. 15-19. One of five athletes on Team USA for the event, Moore was chosen to ride two events, the scratch race and the Madison.

The World Championships will be held on the UCI’s 200-meter velodrome in Aigle. The UCI is the Union Cycliste Internationale, the world governing body for the sport of cycling.

Moore started his cycling career at the National Sports Center Velodrome when he was 8 years old as part of the Velo Kids program. He progressed up the ranks quickly and was racing against the men when he was 11 years old. Now he is the dominant cyclist at the track and holds several State and National Championship titles.

Moore is expected to compete two more times on his home track before departing for the Worlds, on Thursday, July 26 and Thursday, August 2.
