Graphic Design 2023 Summer Internship
The National Sports Center (NSC) is hiring five marketing interns for the summer of 2023. These positions include Graphic Design, Video and Content Creation and General Marketing.
Interns will assist in the marketing and promotion of major amateur sporting events and projects sponsored by the NSC. These include Target USA CUP soccer tournament, NSC CUP, NSC All American Cup and other external bid events.
Each intern will have a primary area of expertise including graphic design, content creation and social media, and general marketing; however, all interns will be exposed to various areas of content creation. The interns will focus on producing editorial content, growing brand identity and promoting NSC partners, sponsors, tournaments and additional events. The ideal candidates are passionate about storytelling and sports development and are eager to learn about various methods of content production and digital marketing.
Timing
All internships are a paid bi-weekly stipend. During summer, hours are 40+ per week. Interns should be flexible with time, as many positions require event work in evenings and weekends. Interns MUST be available to work May 27-28, June 9-11, and July 13-23, 2022. The first day of the internship will be Tuesday, May 16, 2023 and the last day of the internship will be Friday, July 28, 2022 with possibility of extension. All positions are available for course credit as approved by your institution.
Deadlines
Only those who submit a cover letter and resume will be considered for the position. Deadline for application submission will be February 3. 2023. Candidates will be asked to attend an in person interview between February 6-17, 2023 at the National Sports Center. The NSC has a dual mission:
To provide amateur sports opportunities to Minnesota residents
Even though the NSC produces impressive economic impact from out-of-state visitors through signature tournaments and events, 92 percent of participants and visitors are Minnesota residents. This includes athletes who play in leagues and tournaments and their families, spectators to amateur sports events, golfers at Victory Links, and attendees at numerous expos and private meetings. On an average day there are 12 different programs and events taking place at the NSC, and most serve the local community.
To generate out-of-state economic impact through amateur sports events and programs
Programs and events at the NSC generate over $83 million in annual visitor economic impact.
The campus covers 660-acres of sport and event facilities in Blaine, Minnesota. It includes:
Super Rink – eight-rink ice arena
NSC Stadium – 400'x400' open span artificial turf field (two full-size fields) with seating capacity for 5,500 spectators
Welcome Center – 36,000 sq. ft. events and meeting facility, also the administrative office location
Sport Expo Center – 18,000 sq. ft. indoor sports training and court sports facility, with basketball and volleyball.
Victory Links Golf Course – 18-hole PGA-Tour designed golf course with 6 tee boxes, a driving range and a bent grass putting course
Sports Hall – 58,000 sq. ft. indoor FieldTurf field
The NSC facility is operated by the National Sports Center Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Interns will assist in the administrative organization of major amateur sporting events and projects sponsored by the NSC. These include Target USA CUP soccer tournament, NSC CUP, NSC All American Cup and other external bid events. Responsibilities will include registration, volunteer services, housing, transportation, officials, activities, campus operations, special events, marketing, competition/programming, ticketing, sponsorships and more.
