Ultimate is a sport combining the non-stop movement and athletic endurance of soccer with the aerial passing skills of football. Ultimate is governed by Spirit of the Game™, a tradition of sportsmanship that places the responsibility for fair play on the players rather than referees. Ultimate is played in more than 42 countries by hundreds of thousands of men and women, girls and boys.
The sport is governed in the U.S. by the USA Ultimate, and worldwide by the World Flying Disc Federation. Minnesota Ultimate is a State-Based Organization of USA Ultimate and organizes several leagues, tournaments and clinics for a number of divisions and a diversity of players within the state, including high school and middle school.
The National Sports Center has a strong history of hosting major national and international ultimate events. The NSC is also an active site of local week-night leagues.
With over 50 grass fields, the National Sports Center is an ideal ultimate venue. Field rentals are available. Contact Bob Williams by email or call 763.785.5614.
Currently the National Sports Center hosts three ultimate leagues organized by the Twin Cities Ultimate League—a Tuesday co-ed recreational league, Thursday co-ed advanced and men’s leagues. The leagues run from mid-May to mid-August.
